Help Rakesh Undergo Bone Marrow Transplant To Beat Cancer

Rakesh Kumar a resident of Delhi is suffering from the last stage of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). The only way to save him is via a bone marrow transplant. In October 2020 his life came crashing down after he was diagnosed with the serious disease. The nature of CML is such that in most of the cases it is detected in the last stage and Rakesh’s case was no different.

The worried family rushed him to Tata Memorial Centre in Mumbai for treatment and consultation. The heavy rush at Tata Memorial meant that they were forced to scope out other options as speedy treatment was imperative to ensure Rakesh’s recovery.

They attempted a treatment at AIIMS, but like Tata Memorial it too was plagued with a long waiting period. Finally they admitted him to a private hospital.

Rakesh has successfully undergone chemotherapy but the nature of CML is such that the patient needs to undergo a bone marrow transplant as otherwise the cancer cells will simply regenerate.

Luckily a match has been found in Rakesh’s sister and he has a very encouraging shot at beating cancer, only issue is the high treatment cost.

Campaign Details

 Rakesh is currently undergoing treatment at the BKL Hospital in Delhi with expenses touching almost Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 per day.

The family needs your help to be able to afford the high medical costs, as well as the bone marrow transplant. In total they need to raise Rs 20 lakh for the operation and post-treatment costs. The family is very financially stretched, having already spent over Rs 17 lakh so far. Your support is now their only hope.
