About the campaign

Over 3000 underprivileged families are suffering because of the COVID lockdown as many daily wagers have lost livelihood. The Gov has ensured the regular supplies of fuel, staples, and a basic cash transfer. The goal of this campaign is to provide the 3000 odd families with spices, personal hygiene products and home care products which come at a price of Rs 1000.

Aram Valartha Nayaki Sevai Mayyam

We are an NGO working to improve the lives of ordinary people, who seek a way to improve their lives beyond the day-to-day struggle for existance. We are a team of volunteers inspired and trained by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati. This organization was started in 2014.

Our work is focused in the low-income neighbourhoods of Chennai. Our larger mission is preservation of Dharma as per Pujya Swamiji’s vision.

Our Name

Aram

We decided to place Aram (அறம்) at the center of all of our efforts. Aram is the Tamil equivalent of Dharma – an ancient Indian concept for all of life and indeed the entire universe.

Our ancient scriptures emphasise the protection of Dharma as central to the reason for life.

Aram Valartha Nayaki

Aram Valartha Nayaki is Dharma Samvardhini, the Shakthi or cosmic energy principle that animates the entire universe from the sub-atomic particle to the entire Universe. Our Seva is geared towards ensuring that human beings are convinced of the natural order of Dharma and in helping ordinary people establish their lives in harmony with Dharma.

Our ancient seers who understood this problem that we are trying to solve hit upon karma – or activity – as the means of keeping people wedded to Dharma. Karma includes rituals, observances, practices and activities – all geared towards ensuring people upholding Dharma in their daily life.

The traditional Indian way of life has persisted for many millenia. The civilization is itself attested to the hoariest antiquity in the history of humankind. Evidences point to the basic division of stages of life and of occupation existing since times immemorial.

 It is obvious that such a system cannot have persisted without being obviously beneficial to the crores of people who lived in the sphere of influence of Indian Civilization, from Afghanistan to Indonesia. A civilization can be protected, promoted only through preservation of its culture and by training younger generations in protecting it. The Indian way of life is based upon the ancient tradition of the Vedas. One of the central tenets is the complete interconnectedness of the Universe – Sarvam Khalvidam Brahma.

 The Ishavasya Upanishad, Mahatma Gandhi’s favorite Upanishad declares that the Entire Universe is pervaded by Divinity – Ishavasyam Idam Sarvam. Indian customs and rituals are predicated on this idea. Protecting out ancient way of life automatically entails a lifestyle in harmony with the environment, with humans, with other creatures that share this Earth with us. Aram Valartha Nayaki Sevai Mayyam are working to protect this culture and way of life.

 Our team of volunteers are inspired, motivated and trained by Pujya Swami Dayananda Sarasvati. Our sole focus is the preservation, protection and propagation of this Dharmic way of life.
