Support Poor Temple Priests During The COVID Lockdown By Saiva Sastra Prachara Sabha

Background :

Temple ecosystem has been helping out a lot many underprivileged people. Most of the small temples are run by the donations received from the devotees visiting the temple. There are Priests who’s monthly salary is around Rs 1000 to Rs 2000, while some from the smaller temples even have salaries less than Rs 1000. Their households depend on the daily donations given by the devotees visiting the temples. The lockdown for combating the Covid – 19 pandemic has almost stopped the flow of devotees to temples pushing the temple priests into poverty. The economic slowdown created by the epidemic also drains the coffers of many temple committees that support the daily rituals of the temples. In worst of the worst times like these, it is our dharma to extend a helping hand to defend the lives of our civilisation’s torchbearers.

Saiva Shashtra Prachara Sabha wants to help out more than 100 temple priests who survive on a salary less than Rs 2000 per month.
