Help Ananthabadra Fight Bladder Exstrophy

This campaign has been verified by CrowdKash & medical team at the Hospital!

“No kid should go through this. When he was born, there was no bladder, no belly button and no penis. One of the doctors said it was a bladder exstrophy disease. It’s a painful process, even more painful than childbirth. Please help my child and please pray for my child.” – Ananthabhadra’s mother

For Ananthabhadra, there is no respite from the seemingly endless suffering. He fought for his life at childbirth. He fought through multiple surgeries. And now, this 13-year-old wants nothing more than to go to school and play with friends. But, 16 surgeries later, there is still no relief for Ananthabhadra.

He was born with bladder exstrophy, a complex, rare abnormality in the formation of the bladder that leaves it exposed on the abdominal wall. This leaves the pubic bones separated and the bladder exposed to the outside skin surface through an opening in the lower abdominal wall.

His treatment costs between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 per month. A catheter, a urine bag, syringes, gloves, and tablets are also required.

At present, the family is falling short of Rs 30 lakh for his next operation and post-operative medication. He is currently on the waiting list for a bladder augmentation operation (in which his bladder will be enlarged using part of his bowel), allowing him to catheterise.

Every contributor will be given a receipt for their contribution and will get to track the progress of the young boy.

“My son is going through such extreme pain. It frightens me when the doctors say more surgeries are necessary. To make matters worse, my husband abandoned me for another woman. But I will be there for him as long as I am alive,” Ananthabhadra's mother said.

“We can’t afford a large amount to pay for his treatment. Those who see our situation would have understood our need. Please help my child and please pray for my child.”

By being himself, Ananthabhadra demonstrates to other children with health issues that better days are possible. Your generous contribution will go a long way toward ensuring that the treatment can be continued. Become a part of our campaign to help this young boy trapeze into a brighter future.
