Program details 

These funds will provide the student with access to all the following materials and resources:  

1. TIDE's bridge course materials: A set of 14 books designed by researchers from Cambridge University (UK) with national education experts, specifically for government school students. Each book is associated with worksheets, tests, and games for every course. 
2. School bag + Compass box: Will be used on a day-to-day basis by school-going children.
3. Training and development by TIDE mentors: Weekly one-on-one sessions between the mentors and students for the entire year.

Block Education Transformation Initiative (BETI) - 

The materials and resources mentioned above will be used as part of TIDE's scalable solution to reform education in the Sanand block of government schools. Through this program, TIDE Foundation is holistically transforming an entire block of schools, over a 3-year period. With the Sanand block as pilot, the goal is to scale it up and replicate the program to improve the quality and access of education in all school districts across Gujarat. The initiative aims to tackle 3 core educational issues through 3 programs:

• Low teacher support and poor classroom pedagogy (teaching practices)
• Lack of foundational literacy and numeracy skills put together with limited application-based understanding of the core concepts
• Limited pyschosocial support and socioemotional well-being support for students

About the organization 

TIDE (Together In Development & Education) Foundation is an educational reforms non-governmental organization founded in November 2014 that aims to bring about a sustainable change in the educational system and improve access to quality education. Over the last 7 years, TIDE has impacted 10 slum sites, 110+ government schools, and 25,000+ students from low-income communities.
