On 29 August, Muslims attacked a Mahadalit settlement in Murumatu village, Pandu Panchayat, Palamu district, Jharkhand. Their houses were vandalized by bulldozers, and their women and children were thrown on the streets and kicked out of their houses. They were forced to go to the forest.

They were told that the land on which they have their houses was owned by Madrasa. These families are the legal owners per government documents.
