Sri Gokula Krishna Ghoshala, located in Tiruvalluvar district, was established in the year 2008, with just 13 cows and 2 bulls. Our Ghoshala periodically receives cattle for maintenance that would otherwise for slaughtering. We've also been rescuing bulls and cows from slaughtering.
As of now there are over 500 cow, bulls and heifers. More than 90% of the cattle are of native breed and we also have very few cross breed that were rescued from slaughtering. We've also entrusted 259 bulls and 207 cows to the nearby villagers and other places in India to help them in their farming activities and also for their livelihoods.
Goal of the fundraiser:
As the word of our good work got spread, we started seeing a surge in the cattle rescued from slaughter and general public leaving behind their cattle at our Ghoshala. There is a huge hike in the maintenance of the cattle and the sustenance of the Ghoshala is also proving to be a bit difficult. We wish to keep this work going on for decades, but the financial crisis is making it difficult for us to continue the work.
We request you to contribute as much as you can so that we can keep rescuing cattle from slaughter houses and protect cows.
